Volunteer at the Museum or Narramissic

Volunteering is a great way to become involved with history and the community. We need guides and docents at both the Gibbs Avenue Museum year round and Narramissic in the summer. Just a few hours a week, or even every other week, is a big help, and we always need extra hands at special events. With two buildings, one on a 25-acre site, maintenance is a never-ending chore. We also need volunteers to work on the re-creation of mid-19th-century gardens at Narramissic, and there are lots of on-going projects working with the collections. We offer a great way to learn about Museum work. Student interns take note!

If you have volunteered to staff the Museum or Narramissic, you will receive training to become familar with each facility and its collection.

Please consider volunteering an hour or two or even more to:

  • Staffing the Museum
  • Staffing Narramissic
  • Serving on Committees
  • Helping with scheduled events
  • Cooking or baking for meetings and events
  • Working in the flower garden
  • Helping with fund-raising

If you are interested in any of these activities, please send your name and phone number to the Bridgton Historical Society, PO Box 44, Bridgton, ME 04009 or email info@bridgtonhistory.org .
